Long story so the cliff notes are at the end: I must say that I havent had this much fun during a weekend in a while. Friday night I went to get my car tuned a bit on the dyno. Baseline run was a 388 HP/392 Torque but after a little bit of messing with the AFC we managed to get a 413 HP/418 Torque. Unfortunately, the guy doing the tuning heard a bit of pinging so we had to up the fuel mix and back off the boost a little. We're going to try again after I get some colder number 7 plugs and we get an O2 sensor bung welded into my downpipe. He's got a neat handheld wideband O2 sensor unit that we'll use. I went out that night and drove down to a local meet with a few fast cars. 2 turbo civic hatches and a supercharged GTP with some stuff done. :) Anyway, we got some good runs in but I was only barely able to edge out one of the turbo civics (didnt race the other). The thing puts out 260 wheel HP on 8psi. It'll definitely kick my ass once he turns up the boost. On the way there we ran across this bike. I think it was a CBR or something (I suck at identifying bikes). With clear road ahead we did a 60 punch and I was able to walk him pretty good for my first win against a bike. So I fall back and let the turbo civic give him a run. At first the bike didnt want to go and waved him off thinking it was a typical slow ricer but after a quick jump by the civic the bike goes taking off. I jump in after them and after the civic passed the bike I did the same again. Got the whole thing on video. :) Saturday rolls around and Gage and I head up to meet some Supras and Vette guys at a local meeting spot. The Houston supra guys are really great and we all get along just fine. We decide to head over to a local Viper shop and hangout to see what was going on there. The Viper guys were just hanging out and the place was getting overrun with ricers so we take off to do some highway runs. Gage takes off for home leaving me as the only Z in a pack of Supras and Vettes. I wanted to race one of the Supras that I raced long ago who beat me last time. Only this time he had some nitrous and a FMIC and I finally got a little tuning done so we were on different levels. We ran with him off the nitrous and it was close. I just barely was able to edge him out once I got to 5th but I didnt even get a car length on him before we shut down. On the bottle he would have owned me so it looks like I might have to get one of my own. :) I also raced his cousin with a similar setup and with the same results. I was very satisfied with the car that night. Sunday a few of us decided to head up to the drag strip to do some runs. I was getting tired of everyone asking what I ran in the 1/4 mile so wanted to find out. The best I could squeak out was a 2.2 60' while running a 12.7 @ 115mph. I let my friend drive the car since he's been known to get some good times and he was only able to get the 60' down to 2.1 but he tripped the lights at 12.4 @ 117mph. He was telling me that with a little more practice he probably could have gotten the short times down to below 2 and possibly have gotten a high 11's with the car (I had on my autoX tires). Next time we go out we're gonna put in some race gas, up the boost and put on some drag radials to go deep 11's. In short (LOL), the car is running in great condition and I cant wait to take it out on the road course at the end of the month. Cliff Notes: Friday: Dynoed 413 HP/ 418 Torque while detonating. Going back again later for more tuning. Raced a bike and a turbo civic and won. Saturday: Raced a couple of Supras and Vettes and won. Sunday: The car ran a 12.4 @ 117mph with potiential for better times. I am happy.
